Complete Book List

If you are looking for remote areas with unmatched opportunities to see wildlife then you must consider a trip to the southern region. This area harbors the jewel of Costa Rica wildlife in the Osa Peninsula. The majority of Costa Rica's wildlife can be spotted here with the most coveted sightings occurring in or around Corcovado National Park, Golfo Dulce, and La Amistad International Park. Big cats, whales, dolphins, tapirs, quetzal, toucans, macaws, and all four monkey species can be found in this area.

The Rundown

the good: Corcovado, Piedras Blancas, Quetzal, and Amistad parks should be more than enough to satisfy your craving for encounters with Costa Rica's finest wildlife.

the bad: The area is very sensitive to tourism and development, both issues have recently raised eyebrows of local and international conservationists and environmentalists. Animal populations are in decline. Travel Responsibly.

the beautiful: it would be redundant to list everything. its all beautiful.
