Manuel Antonio is the perfect destination for travelers seeking beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets, and a taste of Costa Rica's diverse wildlife. Manuel Antonio National Park is the highlight of the town, boasting plenty of monkeys and three picturesque beaches that are perfect for swimming and sun-bathing. Hotels cater to all budgets but luxury travelers will find more sunset view/jacuzzi options here than other locations in Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio is a great destination for families as many hotels cater to kids. Dolphin watching, sea kayaking, mangrove tours, white water rafting on the Savegre River, canopy tour, horseback riding, mountain bike riding, and sportfishing (from Quepos) round out the list of activities available in the area. The food is good, great with a sunset view! Be sure to check out El Avion Restaurant (the kids will love it and so will your wallet) We also recommend Cafe Milagro for coffee and sandwiches and Hotel Mono Azul for pizza and veggie dishes.

Manuel Antonio Park

The main attraction in Manuel Antonio. If you want to see monkeys this is the place to be. The park does feel like a safari/zoo at times due to the heavy tourist traffic and almost gauranteed wildlife sitings. Hire a guide if you'd like, but you're better off saving $20 and tagging along with one of the numerous guided tours that will be going on during your visit. Just look up when you see a group of 10-15 people staring at the trees! Wildlife isnt hard to spot on your own either.

Banana Tree Hotel

OK, so Banana Tree doesn't have any sustainable characteristics, but with a shortage of sustainable lodging options in the area we decided to include this place because we really like it and its lots of fun! Rooms are bright and vibrant with original artwork. This place is great for groups and young people. All rooms have AC, hot water, cable TV and there is also a small pool. Inquire about the loft style room that sleeps 4-6. Nice proximity to the park, close to MA's best restaurants. Definitely our favorite hotel in Manuel Antonio.
