The Rundown
San Jose: The capital city, the heart of the country. Chepe, as some Ticos call it, is the center of business, commerce, pop-culture, and the arts.

the bad: crime is an issue, although the city has become safer with the majority of crime limited to theft and pick-pocketing.
the beautiful: Culture. Be sure to check out the Gold and Jade Museums, Children's Museum, Museum of Costa Rican Art, and the National Theater.
